Plain cue text and timings are preserved. Styling, positioning, comments and metadata are not carried into the result.

How to use the result

Paste subtitle text or choose a local file. The tool parses cue timestamps and text in this browser. Conversion keeps plain text and timings; it discards styling, positioning and metadata. Save a copy of the source before replacing an original export.

A positive offset delays every cue; a negative offset makes every cue earlier. A shift that moves a cue before the beginning is rejected. A fixed offset cannot repair drift caused by a different playback speed or an edited video.

Characters include spaces and punctuation but exclude line-break characters in the speed calculation. The tool counts Unicode code points. Check the actual player too, because visual width and reading difficulty are not determined by a character count alone.
