Recordings and transcripts

Files you choose and microphone recordings are decoded and processed on your device. The app does not upload their contents, filenames or transcript text to us or a transcription provider. We do not run analytics scripts or set analytics cookies. Choosing a file is not permission to publish it.

Model and runtime downloads

Whisper weights and configuration files download from Hugging Face and its delivery infrastructure when you start transcription. The inference runtime may load supporting files from jsDelivr. These providers receive normal connection information such as your IP address. They receive requests for software files, not your recording. Fonts and the main site assets are hosted with the site.

Saved on this device

Recordings and edits are saved in IndexedDB when browser storage is available. Model files use the browser cache. This is not encrypted storage managed by MurmurScribe. Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to access saved data. Device backups or browser tools can behave according to your own settings.

Use Delete all local data and model cache in the app to remove saved recordings and model files. This removes the app’s saved records and model cache. Browsers may also retain downloaded responses in their own network cache; use the browser’s cache controls to clear those copies. Browser storage settings can also clear this site’s data. Export files remain wherever you saved them; the site cannot delete those copies. Browser eviction or private browsing can remove local work without notice, so keep an export of important text.

Optional Pro waitlist

The pricing form sends your email address and source page to our server. We store the lower-case email and creation time to contact you about Pro availability. A short-lived hash of your IP address is used for basic submission rate limiting. This form never sends audio or transcripts. Contact contact@murmurscribe.com to request removal from the waitlist.

Hosting

Cloudflare serves the site and handles normal web requests. Hosting providers may process operational connection data. We do not claim that using a website leaves no network trace. Contact us with questions about the product’s data flow.
